What do you think happens when you get lost in a corn maze? I’m sure few of you have ever even thought about this. Actually, I’m sure some of you may have no idea what a corn maze is!
A corn maze, simply put, is a labyrinth that is cut out of a corn field. I grew up in New England—Connecticut to be exact—which is home to quite a few corn mazes. Although the mazes were plentiful where I grew up, I never went to one—even though I always wanted to!
But that all changed a few weeks ago when I was home visiting Connecticut. Zoe, one of my best friends, asked me if I wanted to go to a corn maze on a farm with her. I jumped at the opportunity. I love farms, not to mention I love seeing them during fall!
So on a crisp Fall afternoon Zoe and I met at Treat Farm in Connecticut, which is home to one of the largest corn mazes in the area. We bought our tickets and made our way to the maze. Let me tell you, when I say this maze was large I am not exaggerating. The maze covers more than 5 acres in total. Regardless of the size, we ventured inside confident and optimistic that we’d easily make our way through it.
After some time meandering through the maze our confidence began to dwindle. It became apparent that we were getting lost in the same loops and becoming disoriented. So did we win or did the maze win? I won’t tell you how the adventure ended but you can find out in the video below 🙂
